Can You Believe it?

Las Vegas, Nev. (WorkersCompensation.com) – Police in Las Vegas said they are looking for a mother who attacked a cake shop worker over the size of the decoration on top of her cake.

Officials said video of the incident showed the woman entering the shop with her child and a dog. When the employee told the woman dogs were not allowed in the store, the woman was visibly upset, police said. After confronting the worker about the “no animals” policy, the woman began arguing with the worker about the cake topper she had purchased from the store.

"She wanted it like the picture," the worker told KVVU. "I was trying to explain that we can't - we don't know how big anything is from a picture."

Video of the incident showed the customer screaming at the employee before grabbing papers and other material off of the counter and shoving it into the employee’s face. The customer then tackled the employee and started punching her in the face as her daughter screamed in the background.

"I remember just hearing her daughter scream," the employee said. "As I was getting punched, (and) I tell her like, 'You're doing this in front of your kid.' And that's when she yelled out like, ‘It's OK.’”

The employee suffered whiplash and a head injury and missed work. She hopes that the customer will be held accountable of the attack.

"Justice would just be for her to be held accountable for what she did, jail time," the worker said. "I don't know, fees? I mean, I missed 3 days of work. It's just not OK, and she left without her topper that she came in for, that she complained about."

Police were not able to identify the customer through the video and the customer fled the scene after the attack. Officials said the incident is still under investigation.

Other attacks on employees continued across the country.

In Jackson, Mich., a 16-year-old customer attacked a Chick-fil-A employee.

Police said they were called to the store around 6 p.m. on May 7 for a report of an assault. At the scene, police found an employee who had been attacked by a disgruntled teenager. The worker declined to press charges, officials said.

The worker did not report any injuries, and the teenager was taken home and handed over to his parents. No injuries were reported, and police took the teen home and handed him over to his guardian, Garcia said.

The store opened on April 3, officials said. On the first day, customers lined the block for its opening, and filled the store once it started serving breakfast at 6:30 a.m.

In Santa Rosa, Cal., a former employee was arrested for severely injuring restaurant co-workers with a meat cleaver.

Santa Rosa Police Department officials said Li Zhiqing, 39, a former employee of the restaurant Kirin entered the restaurant and attacked a current employee with the meat cleaver. Witnesses said after the attack Zhiqing threatened other employees in the restaurant before fleeing the scene.

The victim suffered from injuries to the head and arm. The injured employee was taken to a local hospital where they were listed in critical condition.

Witnesses told police Zhiqing was located in a nearby park trying to outrun the police. The cleaver used in the attack was located near the crime scene, police said. Smith has worked for the city as an electrician for more than 20 years. On April 11, he was in Chinatown working on an electrical box when he was attacked. Police have arrested his attacker, 30-year0old Dyllan Hopkins, and charged him with attempted murder, and assault with a deadly weapon.

And in Brooklyn, N.Y., an on-duty MTA employee was hospitalized after being attacked in a subway station in Brookly on May 4.

Officials said around 9:30 p.m., a 53-year-old worker was stationed on the lower mezzanine of the subway station when they were hit on the head with an umbrella.
