Glossary Check: N.H. 'Task,' 'Task Analysis'

Concord, NH (WorkersCompensation.com) -- In New Hampshire, an employer must provide temporary alternative or transitional work opportunities to all employees temporarily disabled by a work-related injury or illness.

Before doing so, there is a form that must be completed to get a sense of the work involved. The form provides a task analysis that takes into account a descriptions of the tasks of a job, the tools and equipment used, the physical demands required, and a job description if it's available.

So, what is a "task" and a "task analysis"?

For purposes of workers' compensation law in the Granite State, those terms have the following meanings:

Task 

One of the distinct activities that constitute logical and necessary steps in the performance of a job.

Task Analysis

The evaluation of the physical requirments of each job of a particular job or work assignment.
