Chef Files Lawsuit against Kylie Jenner, her Third Employee-related Suit this Year

Los Angeles, CA (WorkersCompensation.com) – A former chef has filed suit against Kylie Jenner claiming the grueling workload and physical demands placed on her caused her miscarriage.

It's the third working conditions lawsuit filed against Jenner this year.

On Monday, June 22, the chef filed the complaint in Los Angeles Superior Court saying she was asked to routinely work 11- to 12-hour shifts, five days a week and was assigned physically demanding tasks despite telling her supervisors that she had a high-risk pregnancy.

According to court records, the woman was working as “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star’s private chef starting around Thanksgiving 2024. In December, the woman said she informed her supervisor that she was three months pregnant and “required reasonable accommodations to protect her health and pregnancy.”

On New Year’s Eve in 2024, the woman claimed that she was instructed to “lift and transport heavy food items across the street and uphill without assistance,” which caused the woman to experience symptoms of dizziness and shortness of breath requiring assistance from security personnel.

Later, in February 2025, the chef, then five months pregnant, was assigned to work at Jenner's child’s birthday party in Palm Springs, where she said she was not given “adequate support” and her pleas for help and concern for the workload were ignored.

“Due to exhaustion and overwhelming physical strain, [she] broke down emotionally in the bathroom during the event,” the suit said. “That evening, [she] experienced extreme physical exhaustion and heaviness throughout her body as a result of the prolonged and intense workload.”

The next morning, the chef claims, she awoke to severe hemorrhaging and drove herself from the Palm Springs location to the hospital, where she was told the baby had died. When she told her supervisors of the miscarriage and medical emergency, the supervisors instead “falsely accused (her) of leaving the kitchen and refrigerator in disarray.”

The document claims the chef suffered more hemorrhaging on Feb. 8. The filing said after the miscarriage she suffered severe depression and emotional distress for which she claims her supervisor reprimanded her.

“Celebrity status does not exempt anyone from California’s employment laws. We look forward to presenting the evidence in court and allowing the facts to speak for themselves,” attorney Della Shaker told The Times.

The woman is seeking an unspecified amount in damages and also claims she was misclassified as an independent contractor, not paid on time or for the appropriate hours she worked, and was wrongfully terminated.

The lawsuit is the latest brought by former employees against Jenner.

In April, a former housekeeper for the reality star claimed her co-workers harassed and discriminated against her causing her mental pain and suffering. Angelica Hernandez Vasquez filed suit in April. A Salvadoran woman who worked inside Jenner's home, she claims the reality star and her business entities fostered a workplace that was rife with "harassment, discrimination, and labor violations.

Vasquez said in the filing that she was sent to go clean other people’s homes.

“During her employment, [Angelica] was directed by Defendants to travel to and perform work at locations other than her primary work site, including [Kylie’s] boyfriend’s residence on multiple occasions,” the document said. While the housekeeper covered related expenses, including “mileage and transportation costs,” she was not reimbursed.

Additionally, she said she faced “demeaning comments” from about her Salvadoran heritage and immigration status, “mockery and belittlement” due to her accent, and was ridiculed because of her Catholic religion.

Things came to a head in March 2025 when a supervisor threw hangers at her while reprimanding her. She claims she suffered “serious emotional distress,” from the experience and “will continue to suffer extreme humiliation, embarrassment, anxiety, mental anguish, and emotional distress.”

Another housekeeper, Juana Delgado Soto, filed suit against Jenner weeks later claiming that her working conditions were so bad and that her treatment by her supervisor was so horrific, she wrote a letter to Jenner and left it on a massage bed just prior to Jenner getting a massage.

Her lawsuit alleges racial discrimination, failure to pay wages and failure to prevent or remedy harassment and discrimination, claiming Soto was subjected to harassment by Sibrian, her direct supervisor, whom she accused of "laughing at her, calling her stupid, and asking why she can't speak proper English." According to the lawsuit, Sibrian allegedly began retaliating “by subjecting (Soto) to harsher treatment, reducing her pay from $41.66 an hour to $35.00 an hour without explanation, changing her schedule so she no longer works overtime and assigning unreasonable workloads.”

Both Vasquez and Soto are also represented by Shaker.

Neither Jenner nor any other of the entities named in the suits have commented on them.
