Las Vegas, NV (WorkersCompensation.com) – College opportunities all too often go by the wayside for children of workers killed or severely injured on the job. However, more of them have been able to realize their dreams of furthering their education thanks to the efforts of volunteers and donations from many in the workers’ compensation community, as well as other industries.
In Nevada last year, for example, a charity golf tournament raised $50,000 to provide scholarships to affected kids. The Nevada chapter of Kids’ Chance of America is hoping generous donors will turn out again this year.
The Kids’ Chance of Nevada 2nd Annual Golfing for Scholarships golf tournament is set for Nov. 5 – one day before the National Workers’ Compensation and Disability Conference® & Expo kicks off. Sponsored by Employers®, the tourney is being held at Anthem Country Club, an exclusive private course in Las Vegas.
Scramble tee time starts at 10:00 a.m., followed by an awards luncheon. The cost is $325 per player, or $1,200 per foursome. All proceeds benefit Kids Chance of Nevada.
Sponsorship opportunities are also available.
