9/11 Compensation Fund Legislation Signed by President

Washington, DC (WorkersCompensation.com) – Legislation that will ensure the victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks are compensated has been signed by Pres. Donald Trump. HR 1327, an Act to Permanently Authorize the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund, extends funding for the program through 2092. The fund provides benefits to first responders injured in the attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.

The Senate recently voted 97-2 to pass the measure, following House passage by a vote of 402-12.

The Congressional Budget Office has reportedly estimated the bill will result in payments totaling $10.2 billion over the next decade, including $4 billion on claims that have been filed
