Waycross, GA (WorkersCompensation.com) -- If you're charged with responsibilities related to workers' compensation examinations in the Peach State, there's a few rules to be aware of:

What's Included?

Examinations under Georgia law include physical, psychiatric and psychological examinations. They also include reasonable and necessary testing as ordered by the examining physician.

Prepayment

An examining physician may require prepayment pursuant to the Fee Schedule base amount for up to the first two hours ($1200). Payment for any additional charges pursuant to the Fee Schedule shall be due within 30 days of receipt of the report and charges by the employer or insurer.

Notice

The employer must give 10 days written notice of the time and place of any requested examination. Advance payment of travel expenses shall accompany such notice.
