1) OK: Court Denies PTSD Benefits for Former News Cameraman

John Christopher Biebrich, former videographer for KOKH Channel 25, has recorded some tragic events during his career, with things sometimes too graphic to be released on tv, writes Randy Ellis of NewsOK. Biebrich requested work comp benefits for PTSD from covering these events, which included “…an interview with a father who described having his two girls ripped from his arms by a tornado in Piedmont,” per the article. “…The court ruled Biebrich's mental injury was not compensable because it did not arise ‘directly as a result of a compensable physical injury’ as required by law.”

2) WV: Nurse Sues Hospital for an Alleged Unsafe Work Environment

Princeton resident and operating room nurse Mary Wills has filed a lawsuit against Princeton Community Hospital Association Inc. and/or Princeton Community Hospital Foundation Inc., alleging her employer did not provide a safe work environment, writes Angelica Saylo Pilo of the West Virginia Record. “…According to the complaint, on Sept. 29, 2016, Wills was fulfilling her duties in the operating room of Princeton Community Hospital when she was caused to fall and be injured due to a dangerous condition.
