NCCI's Medical Indicators & Trends Dashboard – Q1 2022 Edition

NCCI has released a Q1 2022 update to its Medical Indicators & Trends Dashboard. The dashboard:

  • Provides an interactive way to visualize medical services provided before and after the spread of the pandemic with early reporting of 2022 data for 40 jurisdictions
  • Allows you to download various summary tables
  • Provides an accounting of Q1 2020 through Q1 2022 COVID-19 treated claims

The dashboard also provides summarized statistics for several key metrics we have been following to better understand the direct and indirect impacts of COVID-19. These include impacts to:

  • Physician Services
  • Time to Treatment
  • Telemedicine
  • Prescription Drugs
  • Hospital Outpatient Visits
  • Ambulatory Surgical Center Visits
  • COVID-19 (treated claim characteristics)
  • Newly added - Active Claim Volume

This dashboard allows users to analyze state-specific medical treatment results since the spread of the pandemic, as well as services provided through the first quarter of 2022 as reported through June 2022.

The data source used in this dashboard is NCCI’s Medical Data Call. The Medical Indicators & Trends Dashboard is open and available to everyone as part of NCCI’s commitment to continue to provide insights for informed decision-making.
