Agricultural center funding, report reveals issues at CSB, ergonomic tips and more
The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH)
NIOSH funds 11 agricultural centers
NIOSH has funded 11 Centers for Agricultural Safety and Health, which focus on the agriculture, forestry and fishing industries. The agency’s goal for the centers is to research and improve the safety and health of employees who produce food and fiber for the U.S. The newest center is located in Illinois, but there are several existing locations around the country including one in Texas.

New report identifies issues with CSB
A new report from the Environmental Protection Agency Office of Inspector General states that leadership issues, limited staffing and ambiguous protocol have interfered with the CSB’s ability to accomplish its mission. The review stems from leadership resignations over the summer and provides several suggestions to the CSB for improvement.
