OSHA’s annual Safe + Sound Week will take place August 15-21. The event focuses on the development of successful workplace safety and health programs. Organizations can participate and earn a certificate of recognition by signing up online and planning events or activities for their workplace.

DWC’s new Safety Pro Seminars are designed to educate new safety professionals or coordinators about program development and recordkeeping. The two-part series is free of charge and takes place virtually.

United Steelworkers provides guide on stop-work authority

The United Steelworkers released a new guide that features tools for developing an effective stop-work authority (SWA) program. The free resource also explains the importance of SWA programs and commonly found inefficiencies within existing programs.

Tips for safe scaffolding

DWC shares five tips to reduce the risk of injuries while using scaffolding. Tips focus on personal protective equipment (PPE), load limits, proper builds, housekeeping and training.

New report summarizes 27 years of workplace violence data

A recently released report, Indicators of Workplace Violence, 2019, looks at about 18,000 workplace violence deaths within a 27-year period. The report shares 13 indicators of workplace violence such as characteristics of victims and weapons used.
