OSHA requests input on hazard communication updates
Back in February, OSHA issued a proposed rule to update the regulations on hazard communication. The agency now plans to ask for feedback to the proposed changes during an informal public hearing on September 21. Interested participants can sign up to testify or question witnesses by submitting their notice by June 18.

USDA prohibits removal of maximum line speeds in pork processing industry
After a controversial 2019 ruling to revoke the current maximum line speed for pork processing plants, the USDA is setting a new mandate. The agency is now accepting a March court ruling that prohibits the removal of the maximum line speeds. Establishments operating under the New Swine Inspection System should return to prior maximum line speeds by June 30.
