NFPA releases guide for structural firefighting

NFPA 1700, a Guide for Structural Fire Fighting, was released this month. The document contains guidance for search, rescue and fire suppression activities in structure fires. Recommendations within the document are based on fire dynamics research and analysis.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)

OSHA provides insight into COVID-19-related inspections

OSHA issued guidance to show which standards have been most commonly cited during the agency’s COVID-19-related inspections. The list includes not performing appropriate respirator fit testing, failure to keep injury and illness records, and more.

The National Safety Council (NSC)

NSC report shows employer response to COVID-19

NSC is providing collective information on how businesses in multiple industries have responded to COVID-19. To produce the report, researchers surveyed employers about safety practices, expenses and outcomes. The State of the Response: Employer Actions to Address the Pandemic report is available to download through the organization’s website.
