Kids’ Chance of America names Chris Letsos as chief executive officer

TAMPA, Fla. (June 17, 2025)—Chris Letsos has been named as Kids’ Chance of America’s first full-time chief executive officer, marking a major milestone in the national nonprofit’s growth and development. He will begin his new role in August.

Letsos brings more than two decades of leadership experience in youth-focused and mission-driven organizations. He currently serves as chief executive officer of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tampa Bay, one of the largest affiliates in the national Big Brothers Big Sisters network. His career also includes leadership roles with the Knox Education Foundation, Boys & Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay and the Florida Department of Children and Families, where he oversaw child welfare programs across 11 counties in Southwest Florida.

“Chris brings a wealth of experience in leading organizations that operate under a federated model similar to Kids’ Chance of America,” said Jennifer Wolf, president of the Kids’ Chance of America Board of Directors. “With Kids’ Chance organizations now active in all 50 states, the time is right to strengthen our network and expand our reach. We believe Chris is the right leader to build on this momentum and guide our growth to serve more kids.”

In addition to his professional credentials, Wolf noted that Letsos has a personal connection to the mission of Kids’ Chance, which provides scholarships and support to the kids of critically and fatally injured workers.

“Chris’s father experienced a traumatic workplace injury that left him permanently disabled, prompting the family to relocate from New York to Florida,” Wolf said. “He became the first in his family to graduate from high school and pursue higher education. That experience fuels his passion for ensuring that no young person has to face uncertainty about their future due to a parent’s workplace injury.”

A graduate of the University of Florida with a master’s degree from Florida State University, Letsos is based in Tampa, where he lives with his wife and two children.

“I am incredibly honored and thankful for the opportunity to join Kids' Chance of America,” Letsos said. “It is a deeply personal calling to serve children of seriously or fatally injured workers, as I know first-hand what it means to deal with the uncertainty and adversity facing families after these life changing moments. It is my duty and privilege to support the Kids’ Chance network in ensuring that every student whose family has been affected by workplace injury can thrive through a college education or trade school training.”
