CA DWC Posts Additional Adjustment to OMFS for Pathology and Clinical Laboratory

San Francisco, CA (WorkersCompensation.com) - The Division of Workers’ Compensation (DWC) posted an order dated March 30, 2022, adjusting the Pathology and Clinical Laboratory section of the Official Medical Fee Schedule (OMFS) to conform to Medicare’s 2022 Quarter 2 payment system changes as required by Labor Code section 5307.1. Thereafter, Medicare adopted a revised 2022 Quarter 2 Clinical Laboratory file dated March 31, 2022. The revised file changes the data for only one code, Proprietary Laboratory Analysis (PLA) code 0108U related to gastroenterology (proprietary diagnostic test for Barrett’s esophagus).

DWC has issued an order adopting the revised 22CLAB2_0 file, effective for services on or after April 1, 2022. The previous Quarter 2 update order dated March 30, 2022 remains effective, except for the adoption of the revised file that modifies the one specified PLA code. The order can be found on the DWC Pathology and Clinical Laboratory webpage.
