Sarasota, FL (CompNewsNetwork) - Alabama Retail Comp (ARC), a growing workers' compensation self-insured fund headquartered in Montgomery, AL, and Tropics Software Technologies (TST), a national software company specializing in workers' compensation systems, announced today that ARC has selected Tropics for its new integrated policy, billing and claims administration system. ARC will be utilizing the new system to offer agencies enhanced on-line inquiry functionality, web-based application submission and integrated document management. Additionally, Tropics will handle the policy issuance, policy administration, billing administration and claims administration software functions for ARC.

"Over the past seven months, we performed a very thorough assessment of over a dozen software vendors servicing the workers' compensation industry. After significant due diligence, it was apparent to us that Tropics Software Technologies had the most complete system from a functionality perspective, as well as a long list of happy clients, who sang the praises of TST's customer service record," said Mark Young, Alabama Retail Comp's Fund Manager. "We believe that the user-friendly nature of Tropics' agency and policyholder web portals, coupled with the robust functionality in the core policy, billing and claims systems will help ARC continue to be seen as an efficient, effective organization that is able to provide top-notch, yet consistently improving, service to its agents and members."

"We are very proud to have been selected by ARC after such a thorough evaluation process," said Mike Mobar, President and CEO of Tropics Software Technologies. "The addition of ARC to our family of clients brings TST's client base to 25 workers' compensation organizations, who are utilizing the Tropics system to process business in nearly 40 states across the country. We are confident that our experience in helping workers' compensation organizations optimize their processes through the use of our software will allow Alabama Retail Comp to continue its tradition of providing industry-leading service to Alabama agencies and employers."
