South Carolina WCC Approves Proposed Mediation Regulation

Columbia, SC (WorkersCompensation.com) - At a Special Business Meeting on Monday, April 9, 2012, the Commission approved the language for the Proposed Mediation Regulation. The purpose of the regulation is to establish a defined mechanism to resolve disputes without the necessity of a hearing. The Proposed Regulation will be published in the April 27, 2012 issue of the State Register.

A Public Hearing is scheduled for May 29, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at the Commission Offices, 1333 Main Street, Suite 500, Columbia, SC 29202. To be considered, comments must be received no later than 5:00 p.m. on Monday, May 28, 2012. A Special Business Meeting will follow the Public Hearing on May 29 to consider final approval of the proposed language for General Assembly review.
