South Carolina LLR Recognizes Safe Workplaces

                               

Columbia, SC (WorkersCompensation.com) - Several South Carolina companies are being recognized for their outstanding safety records through the South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation's 2011 Safety Achievement Awards program. The program recognizes a firm's efforts to reduce recordable occupational injuries and illnesses of their workers during the past year.

LLR's 2011 Safety Awards program awarded companies that reduced and / or eliminated OSHA recordable injuries and illnesses between 2010 and 2011. The awards also recognized companies that worked at least 1 million hours without a lost-time accident.

LLR's Safety Awards program is open to any employer that has an average of 100 or more employees. The Awards are presented in four categories:

No recordable injuries or illnesses.

A reduction of at least 40 percent in an employer's incident rate between 2006 and 2007.  Change to 2010 and 2011

A difference of at least 75 percent in an employer's incidence rate and the South Carolina average rate for that industry.

 Worked one million work hours without a lost-time injury or illness.
