Secretary Perez Appoints Georgia Maxwell As Executive Assistant

                               Madison, WI (CompNewsNetwork) - Department of Workforce Development (DWD) Secretary Manny Perez today announced the appointment of Georgia Maxwell as Executive Assistant for the agency.
 
“Georgia Maxwell comes to us with over two decades of senior management, legislative and public policy experience, working in both the state Assembly and Senate, as well as in the private sector,” Secretary Perez said. “Governor Walker is acting quickly on his job creation agenda, and Georgia Maxwell will play a crucial role as we work with legislators, business leaders and other partners on workforce and economic development initiatives. I am pleased to have her on our team. “
 
As Executive Assistant, Maxwell will work closely with Secretary Perez and Deputy Secretary Scott C. Baumbach in advancing Governor Walker's agenda. With 1,645 employees, DWD works with employers to fill jobs, provides training and employment services to workers, enforces workers' rights, and administers Unemployment Insurance and Worker's Compensation programs.
 
Maxwell previously served as the key government affairs representative for the Wisconsin Credit Union League and the Wisconsin Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, specializing in statewide coalition building. Prior to these roles, she worked in both houses of the Wisconsin Legislature for nearly a decade, working as committee clerk focusing on education reform, and in the offices of Senate and Assembly Republican leaders.
 
Maxwell grew up in the town of Winneconne outside Oshkosh and attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She lives in Waukesha County with her husband and three children.
 
Maxwell will begin her new duties this week.
