SCF Premieres New Online Safety Videos In Spanish & English

                               Phoenix, AZ - SCF Arizona has added three new titles to Safety Net, its streaming library of work safety videos made available to employers who want to educate their workers about safety. Safety Net is a component of www.scfaz.com, the company's website.

Latino workers suffer injuries and death at a greater rate than any other American work group, according to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. To help employers address safety training among their Spanish–speaking workers, SCF's Safety Net offers:

  • “La seguridad ante los ojos” (Eye Safety) – Workers' eyes may be exposed to harmful chemicals, torch sparks, gases, paints or flying shards of wood, metal or plastic. The wearing of Personal Protective Equipment such as safety glasses, face shields and use of routine hygiene is discussed. Also, interviews with safety experts and an interactive quiz are woven among the film's chapters. The video is streamed, which allows for easy online viewing by workers.   • “El manejo seguro de escaleras” (Ladder Safety) – Ladders figure heavily in jobsite injuries, industry statistics show. The streaming video covers how to use ladders safely, types of ladders and what jobs they are suited for, proper footwear, plus critical safety rules to remember when utilizing ladders.   • A third new work safety video, “Hearing Safety, Part 1,”covers prevention of hearing loss. More than 30 million people in the United States are at risk of hearing damage because of workplace noise, according to the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH). The damage to hearing that can be prevented in the workplace is discussed as well as use of Personal Protective Equipment such as earplugs and earmuffs.
