President Obama Issues Letter in Recognition of Kids' Chance Awareness Week

Washington, DC (WorkersCompensation.com) – In a letter dated November, 1, 2016, President Barack Obama recognized and commended the volunteers of Kids’ Chance for the excellent work they do and the cause they support. Specifically, he tells them, “By fighting to make a difference in the lives of young people whose parent’s experienced a work related injury or death, you are helping put opportunity within reach for our Nation’s rising generation”.

The letter was issued in coordination with Kids’ Chance Awareness Week, which runs from November 14th through November 18th.

Kids’ Chance, established in 1988 in Valdosta, GA, has grown to a national organization with chapters in 36 states. Several more states currently have chapters in development. Kids’ Chance is primarily staffed and funded by the workers’ compensation industry, and provides scholarships and educational opportunities for children whose parent have been killed or seriously injured on the job.
