Poizner Appoints Jesse Huff As Chief Deputy Commissioner

                               
Sacramento, CA (CompNewsNetwork) - Insurance Commissioner Steve Poizner announced today that Jesse Huff has been appointed Chief Deputy Commissioner for the Department of Insurance effective June 1. Huff will replace outgoing Chief Deputy Jim Richardson, who is leaving CDI to be the President of The Dentists' Insurance Company.

Huff has had a distinguished career in state service and public policy. He has served as a Deputy Commissioner to Commissioner Poizner since January 2007. Previously he served as the Director of  the Department of Finance for Governor Deukmejian; the Director of the Department of Toxic Substances Control for Governor Wilson and in various advisory capacities in the California Legislature. Huff has a  Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Chapman University; a Master of Arts degree in Political Science from University of California, Riverside; and a Master of Business Administration degree from Pepperdine University. 

"Jesse brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge," said Commissioner Poizner. "His strong fiscal background and knowledge of state government have made him an invaluable resource to this Department. Jesse has been with me at the Department since the beginning and I look forward to working with him in his expanded leadership role.
