The Use and Abuse of Narcotics in the Treatment of Pain in the Workers' Compensation System.

This session will help attendees understand ways to properly utilize opioids for pain management, focusing on functional improvement and avoiding the pitfalls of abuse. It will discuss ways to use data to manage utilization of pain medication, and highlight tools that can be used to prevent potential fraud, waste, abuse, and addiction.
