PA DLI Invites Public Comments On 2010 State Vocational Rehabilitation Plan

Harrisburg, PA (CompNewsNetwork) - The Department of Labor & Industry's Office of Vocational Rehabilitation is soliciting public comment on Pennsylvania's 2010 Combined Agency State Plan during meetings being conducted throughout the state through April 9. The plan outlines the strategic direction for Pennsylvania's vocational rehabilitation program.

These public meetings serve as a forum for Pennsylvanians to provide input on the Combined Agency State Plan, and suggest ways the commonwealth can better serve people with disabilities. For those who are unable to attend a public meeting, written comments may be mailed to the appropriate district office serving the area in which the individual resides. Written comments must be by 5 p.m. on April 30.

At the public meetings, a variety of topics will be discussed, including Governor Edward G. Rendell's proposals to expand opportunities for Pennsylvanians with disabilities, the estimated number of individuals to be served, the cost of the services, the comprehensive system of personnel development and supported employment services.

A copy of the Combined Agency State Plan and other vocational rehabilitation information is available by contacting Office of Vocational Rehabilitation or Bureau of Blindness and Visual Services local offices and online at http://www.dli.state.pa.us.
