Oregon Insurance Division Administrator Stepping Down

                               

Salem, OR  (CompNewsNetwork) -  The Oregon Department of Consumer and Business Services (DCBS) announced today that Scott Kipper, administrator of the Insurance Division, will be leaving his position effective Oct. 31, 2008, to pursue other interests.

"Scott has made many friends in the Insurance Division and in Oregon during his time with us," said Cory

Streisinger, director of the department and insurance commissioner. "I know he will be missed."

Streisinger has asked Deputy Administrator Teresa Miller to serve as acting administrator while the department evaluates the division's future needs.

The Insurance Division, part of the Department of Consumer & Business Services, helps ensure the financial soundness of insurers, the fair treatment of consumers, and the affordability and availability of insurance products.

The Department of Consumer and Business Services is Oregon's largest business.
