Ohio BWC Appoints Regional Business Development Managers

                               

Columbus, OH (WorkersCompensation.com) - Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation (BWC) Administrator/CEO Steve Buehrer today announced the following appointments: 

Southeast
Jim Blazer as business development manager for Southeast Ohio. In this position, Blazer will serve as an ambassador for Buehrer and work with employers that could substantially benefit from BWC's safety and claims management services. Blazer is one of four such managers across the state.

"We are pleased to have Jim to help employers create safer work environments and effectively assist workers when they are injured, which are both key to lowering workers' compensation premiums and freeing up funds for employers to energize company growth and job creation," said Buehrer. "Jim and his counterparts are seasoned professionals who will bridge a gap between BWC and employers that we must fill if we are to accomplish our prevention and care mission."

BWC offers numerous programs that can help businesses save money, generally focused on preventing accidents and improving worker care. Blazer will work with other BWC staff to educate employers on these programs and increase participation in them. One example is Destination: Excellence, a program that allows businesses to choose from up to seven money-saving options focused primarily on creating safer work places and transitioning injured workers back onto the job. He will also establish relationships with employers in Southeast Ohio to ensure their workers' compensation needs are being met.

Blazer was the founder and owner of Blazer and Associates, Inc., an insurance agency specializing in employee benefits to employers and associations. The agency celebrated its 23rd anniversary this year, and many associations have endorsed Blazer and Associates, Inc. to provide employee benefits for members, such as the Central Ohio Retail Grocers, East Central Ohio Food Dealers, Ohio Bed and Breakfast Association, The Ohio Library Council, The Automobile Dealers Alliance of Ohio, Ohio Association of Realtors, The Columbus Board of Realtors and The Professional Insurance Agents of America.

Blazer has served on a number of committees for the Clintonville Area Commission. In 2009, he served as chairman of the Election Committee and on the High Street/North Broadway Task Force, and he currently serves as a member of the Planning and Development Committee. In the spring of 2010, he was elected to a three-year term as Commissioner of District 3 on the Clintonville Area Commission. He currently serves as treasurer of the Commission and is a founding member of the Clintonville Rotary.

He attended the Ohio State University, where he majored in cinematography and film production.

Northeast
Mark Clendenin as business development manager for Northeast Ohio. In this position, Clendenin will serve as an ambassador for Buehrer and work with employers that could substantially benefit from BWC's safety and claims management services. Clendenin is one of four such managers across the state.

"Mark and his counterparts are seasoned professionals who will bridge a gap between BWC and employers that we must fill if we are to accomplish our prevention and care mission."

Clendenin has more than 25 years of experience in both the public and private sectors. His background covers virtually every aspect of the industry, including public and private accounting, financial services, life and commercial insurance, teaching, and the construction industry.

Most recently, Clendenin was the principal at Resource Financial Group, LLC, where he provided comprehensive individual financial planning services and 401-(k) consulting to individuals and businesses.

Clendenin also served as the computer applications and finance teacher for Northwest High School. Prior to that, he was the vice president of Northeast US sales for Life Settlement Insights, LLC. Clendenin commits to community involvement through volunteer positions with Rotary International, Junior Achievement, The Walsh University Advisory Board, Chamber of Commerce and local youth activities.

Clendenin lives in Jackson Township (Stark County).

Southwest
Erin Rosiello as business development manager for Southwest Ohio. In this position, Rosiello will serve as an ambassador for Buehrer and work with employers that could substantially benefit from BWC's safety and claims management services. Rosiello is one of four such managers across the state.

"Erin and her counterparts are seasoned professionals who will bridge a gap between BWC and employers that we must fill if we are to accomplish our prevention and care mission."

Rosiello is an experienced regional sales manager with a background in business-to-business sales, generating revenue growth and driving marketing initiatives. She most recently worked with a third-party administrator of workers' compensation, and worked for eight years in human resource services helping Ohio employers with such issues as workers' compensation, payroll and unemployment.

She has 20 years sales experience, five years sales management experience and five years as vice president of marketing for a regional retailer.

Rosiello is a graduate of Clermont 20/20 leadership program, where she has served as director of leadership development. She holds a bachelor's degree in business from Muskingum College, and has completed partial coursework for a master's in business administration from the University of Dayton.

Rosiello lives in Miami Township (Clermont County).

Northwest

Wyse comes to BWC after spending more than 29 years in the insurance business, working primarily with employers to assist with their health insurance needs. His focus was helping employers keep their health insurance costs under control by implementing strategies such as wellness benefits and other cost cutting tools, and then communicating those policies through employee benefit meetings or forms of written communication.

After selling his insurance agency in 2004, Jim continued to work for the agency that purchased his business until July.

Wyse has an extensive background in public and community service, serving on many local boards and committees, including the board of directors of the Community Hospital & Wellness Center, and the Rotary Club, where he is a past president and Paul Harris Fellow. He has been mayor of Archbold since 2004. He was recognized in 2008 as Archbold Citizen of the Year for his economic development efforts, the youngest person to earn the award in its 50-year history.

Wyse lives in Archbold (Fulton County).
