NY Man Caught Faking Injury

Albany, NY (CompNewsNetwork) - A Hudson Valley man, after claiming he suffered a job-related back injury, is accused of fraudulently accepting nearly $78,000 in workers' compensation benefits from May 2003 until September 2006.

Investigators arrested him Wednesday after producing videotapes showing him moving furniture and riding a motorcycle without the cane he appeared to lean on heavily during medical exams. He's charged with insurance fraud, grand larceny, offering a false instrument for filing and workers' compensation fraud.

Gambino was released on his recognizance and is due back in court next week.
