NY Gov. On Zadroga Bill

Albany, NY (CompNewsNetwork) - The New York governor, David Paterson, made a statement after the New York House of Representative voted. Governor Paterson stated, "Today, the House of Representatives took an important vote to honor our commitment to those brave first responders who acted so selflessly on September 11, 2001. The responders from around the country who were directly affected by the events of 9/11 deserve access to the care they need. This legislation not only is a New York priority, but a national priority. I thank our Congressional delegation for leading this fight for the past nine years and Speaker Pelosi for her leadership and stewardship of this legislation. I commend Senators Schumer and Gillibrand for their long-standing commitment to this issue and I implore all Senators to pay the debt our nation owes to the heroes of 9/11 and pass this critical legislation."
