Nebraska Workers’ Comp Court Hires New Voc. Rehab Specialist

                               

Lincoln, NE (WorkersCompensation.com) - The Nebraska Workers' Compensation Court is pleased to welcome Brett Ruoff as a new Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist.

Brett will begin his duties with the court's Vocational Rehabilitation section on February 21, 2012. Brett's contact information and his caseload will be made available in the Vocational Rehabilitation section of the court's web site (http://www.wcc.ne.gov/vr/vocational_rehabilitation.aspx).

The Vocational Rehabilitation section is responsible for reviewing and approving proposed vocational rehabilitation plans, certifying vocational rehabilitation counselors and job placement specialists, and appointing a vocational rehabilitation counselor if the parties cannot agree on the selection. The progress of injured workers in an approved plan is monitored, and all payments from the Workers' Compensation Trust Fund for plan expenses must be approved by the section.

Brett began his career with the State of Nebraska in October 2007 as a Rehabilitation Specialist with Nebraska Vocational Rehabilitation. Previously, Brett worked as a Social Studies Teacher and Head Coach for Swimming and Water Polo with the Bryan Independent School District in Bryan,TX and as a Neuropsychology Extern with Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital in Lincoln, NE. Brett earned a BS in Psychology from Texas A&M University and an MA in Counseling Psychology from the University of Nebraska—Lincoln.

Brett is an avid swimmer and is currently in training to participate in an Ironman Triathalon.
