NC Governor Appoints Walters To Workforce Development Commission

                               
Raleigh, NC (CompNewsNetwork) - Gov. Mike Easley has appointed Jerry H. Walters Jr. of Charlotte to the North Carolina Commission on Workforce Development.
 
Walters is an attorney and shareholder at Littler Mendelson. He is a member of the Rotary Club of Charlotte, Charlotte Chamber Board of Advisors and the William H. Bobbitt Inn of Court. Walters received the Legal Elite Award in employment law from Business North Carolina magazine and the BTI Client Service All-Star Team for Law Firms Award in 2008. Walters received his Bachelor's degree in political science from UNC-Chapel Hill and his Juris doctorate from Campbell University School of Law.
 
The board's duties are to enhance and develop strategies that produce a skilled and competitive workforce through various powers and duties. The commission has 38 members, each serving a four-year term. The governor appoints all members.
