MEMIC Hires Newton to Key Financial Role

Portland, ME (WorkersCompensation.com) - The MEMIC Group, a workers’ compensation insurance specialty carrier with offices from Maine to Florida and licenses across the nation, has hired Bill Newton to serve as director of Financial Reporting.

Newton has more than 13 years of experience in accounting and finance roles, most recently reporting to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on behalf of publicly traded companies. Newton also spent three years in financial accounting for an insurance company and three years in public accounting at Baker Newman Noyes, the Portland-based firm.

Newton holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and master’s degree in accounting, both from the University of Maine. Newton lives in South Portland with his wife and son.
