MEMIC Group Hires For New Jersey, New York And Pennsylvania

Portland, ME (WorkersCompensation.com) - The MEMIC Group has announced the hiring of two Senior Underwriters-Mark Darragh for their New Jersey and surrounding areas operations and Katrinka Casamassa for Pennsylvania.

Darragh will be responsible for new business development for the state of New Jersey as well as Long Island, New York and Westchester County, New York. He will be based from the company's Weehawken, New Jersey office.

Darragh has 22 years of property and casualty insurance experience, mostly in commercial lines. He most recently worked for Harleysville Insurance in Mt. Laurel, New Jersey as a Commercial Lines Territorial Manager. He has held positions in underwriting and marketing.

He is studying for his Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) certification and holds a bachelor's degree in English from New Jersey City University in Jersey City, New Jersey.

Casamassa will play an integral role in the workers' compensation insurer's expansion into the Keystone State. She will be responsible for developing new business and will be based in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania in Montgomery County.

Casamassa comes to MEMIC from Travelers Insurance Company and has more than 20 years of experience in commercial lines of insurance. Her background includes considerable experience in growth and business retention, and she has held positions in underwriting and management.

She holds a certification as a Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and has an Associate in Risk Management (ARM) certification. She earned a bachelor's degree in Business Management from Moravian College in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
