MedRisk’s Shelley Boyce to Discuss Clinical Guidelines in Workers’ Comp


King of Prussia, PA  ( ― Shelley Boyce, CEO of MedRisk, Inc., will participate in a panel discussion on the “The Role of Clinical Guidelines” at the Aug. 19-23 Workers' Compensation Educational Conference at the Orlando World Center Marriott. The presentation is part of the conference's new “Center for Excellence – the Study of Medical Cost Drivers in Workers' Compensation.”

Boyce founded MedRisk and its Expert Clinical Benchmarks subsidiary, the industry leader in the development and maintenance of physical medicine treatment guidelines and utilization management protocols. She is joined by a strong team of panelists including moderator Kathryn L. Mueller, MD, MPH, FACOEM, medical director, the State of Colorado's Division of Workers' Compensation, Denver; David Deitz, MD, PhD, vice president and national medical director at Liberty Mutual Insurance Co., Boston; and Robert Bonner, MD, MPH, vice president of medical practices and technical support for The Hartford, Hartford, Conn.

The discussion features a primer on clinical guidelines design and its development methodologies. Panelists will also cover what guidelines are currently available and how to use them in various stages of a workers' compensation claim—from initial care through conflict resolution. 

The session is slated for 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 21.
