McGarvey Elected to NCCI Medical Data Call Research Committee

Portland, ME (WorkersCompensation.com) - Daniel McGarvey, Senior Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer for The MEMIC Group, has been elected to serve on the Medical Data Call Research Committee for the National Council on Compensation Insurance, Inc. (NCCI), the leading rate making organization in the workers' compensation insurance industry.

Members of the committee were appointed by the Board of Directors of the NCCI. They must be from organizations that are also Medical Data Call providers and are selected based on their knowledge of public policy issues affecting workers' compensation. Elected members serve on the committee for three years.

McGarvey joined MEMIC in 2009 as Senior Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer, sharing his years of experience in the insurance industry. McGarvey is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and is a member of the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter Society (CPCU.

Based in Boca Raton, FL, NCCI manages the nation's largest database of workers' compensation insurance information. The organization analyzes industry trends, prepares workers' compensation rate recommendations, determines the cost of legislative proposals and provides a variety of services and tools, serving the workers' compensation market. Most states in the U.S. rely on NCCI services to develop workers' compensation rates.
