Within that new contract the fees for conducting the deposition of an Impartial Examiner will be increased for the first time since 1986. This fee increase will result in a more equitable compensation schedule for the Impartial Examiner and will more fairly compensate them for their time and efforts when they must testify on medical issues at depositions. The fees are to be paid by the deposing party to the deponent medical examiner. These fees are not payable to the Department.
