LWCC's dividend paid to policyholders in 2011 for the 2010 year was $22.5 million.
About 17,000 policyholders will receive a portion of the new dividend. Individual dividend awards are based on a calculation that takes into account policyholders' premium and longevity with LWCC over the last five years.
“We are pleased to be able to pay a dividend to our policyholders for nine consecutive years,” said LWCC President and CEO Kristin W. Wall. “Because of our company's strength and stability and our desire to reward policyholders, we are continuing to put dollars back into the pockets of Louisiana businesses.”
LWCC Chairman Donald T. “Boysie” Bollinger stated, “This company has performed exceptionally well during a period when the workers' compensation industry nationwide has been challenged. LWCC's solid financial results for 2011 allow us to show our gratitude to policyholders for their loyalty and commitment to LWCC by paying them a dividend.”
