KS DOL Names New Director

Topeka, KS (CompNewsNetwork) - The Kansas Department of Labor is pleased to announce that Inayat Noormohmad has been named Director of Labor Market Information Services (LMIS). Noormohmad originally joined the Department of Labor in 2006 as a labor economist and he has been serving as the Acting Director for LMIS since January 16, 2009.

Noormohmad comes to Topeka from Atlanta and worked previously in engineering, hedge funds and business development. He is a native of Mumbai, India and attended high school in Atlanta. He holds a bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering from Georgia Tech and a master's degree in public financial policy from the London School of Economics in London, UK.

"I'm very pleased that Inayat has moved into this new role with the Department of Labor," said Secretary of Labor Jim Garner. "His level of expertise has allowed us to expand the services and information we can offer the citizens of Kansas and I know he will continue to add value in his new position."

"I welcome this opportunity to broaden my responsibilities and look forward to working with the LMIS team to provide information that assists the State in meeting the needs of Kansans," Noormohmad said.
