Indiana Company Earns Recognition for Exemplary Workplace Safety and Health

Indianapolis, IN (WorkersCompensation.com) - Atlas Die, LLC, is leading the way in advancing Hoosier occupational safety and health. Its workplace health and safety incident rate is more than 50 percent below the national average.
As a result of their proven performance to a safe and healthy workplace, the Indiana Department of Labor welcomed Atlas Die, LLC, into the Indiana Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (INSHARP) Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2012.
To participate in INSHARP, a company must develop and implement an effective worker safety and health program and maintain occupational injury and illness rates below the national average for their industry over the last three years. Currently, fewer than 50 Indiana workplaces have achieved INSHARP certification.
“It is always gratifying to see companies that proactively address workplace safety and health,” said Indiana Department of Labor Commissioner Lori Torres. “The Indiana Department of Labor applauds the management and employees of Atlas Die, LLC, for their commitment to the safety and health of all who work there.”
Atlas Die, LLC, manufactures dies that are used in conjunction with a press to cut shapes from materials. Those materials include rubber, leather, and paper sheets. Their most common application is the boxes you see on your grocery store shelves. To reduce exposure to occupational safety and health hazards, many of the company's employees have participated in the OSHA 30-hour general industry outreach training.
Atlas Die, LLC, was awarded Pre-INSHARP in August 2011. The site is the first company in Elkhart to achieve certification status in INSHARP.
