IL Proposed Changes To Fee Schedule Win JCAR Approval

Chicago, IL (CompNewsNetwork) –  At its January 13, 2009 hearing, the Joint Committee on Administrative Rules (JCAR) approved the proposed changes to the wc medical fee schedule. The anticipated effective date of these changes will be February 1, 2009.

The proposed rules will create fee schedules for 1) ambulatory surgical treatment centers; 2) hospital outpatient radiology, pathology and laboratory, physical medicine and rehabilitation services, and surgical services; and 3) rehabilitation hospitals.

The proposed rules also specify that the hospital inpatient fee schedule will convert from the DRG coding system to the MS-DRG coding system no later than June 30, 2009.
