EMPLOYERS’ Nelson To Testify Before Ohio Competitive WC Task Force
27 May, 2010 WorkersCompensation.com
Nelson, along with EMPLOYERS' President and Chief Executive Officer Douglas D. Dirks, successfully orchestrated the privatization of Nevada's workers' compensation state fund in 1999. What was once Nevada's state fund is now part of Employers Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: EIG), whose insurance subsidiaries offer workers' compensation insurance in 30 states and which is widely considered a model success story in state fund privatization.
What: In an effort to ensure long-term viability of a workers' compensation program in Ohio that protects injured workers and is affordable and reliable for employers, the Competitive Workers' Compensation Task Force will review the current state workers' compensation insurance offerings and examine the efforts made by other states to open their workers' compensation markets to private competition.
Ann Nelson will testify before the Task Force on her experience in successfully privatizing Nevada's workers' compensation state fund in 1999 and provide her insights into how Nevada's success could apply to Ohio. Nelson is recognized as an authority in the area of privatization and has previously testified before Task Forces in Oklahoma and Colorado.
When:

10 a.m. EDT
Where:
