Dupre Named L&I Assistant Director For Insurance Services

Tumwater, WA (CompNewsNetwork) - Beth Dupre has been appointed to serve as the Assistant Director for Insurance Services at the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries. She will oversee approximately 1,000 employees involved with L&I's State Fund workers' compensation functions including claims administration, employer services (policy and account management), health services analysis (management of provider fee schedule and medical cost containment efforts), office of the medical director, actuarial services, the self-insurance organization, and Safety and Health Assessment and Research for Prevention (SHARP).

Most recently, Dupre has served as L&I's Chief Risk Officer. Previously she held executive positions with the state Health Care Authority as Deputy Administrator of Operations and Assistant Administrator overseeing the state's Basic Health program. She also has over 20 years of private sector experience in operations, marketing, and client services.

"Beth has a wealth of experience in both the health insurance and worker's compensation and fields," said L&I Director Judy Schurke. "Her previous experiences also offer a balanced perspective of work in the public and private sectors. She will be a great asset to this agency."

"I'm looking forward to my new challenges," Dupre said. "It is important that Insurance Services mirrors the vision that Judy Schurke has set for L&I – to represent a service culture that is customer-focused and delivers value."

Dupre replaces Bob Malooly who has served in the position for nearly 8 years. He is leaving L&I to pursue a start-up business in software development.

Dupre's appointment is effective immediately.
