California WCIRB Elects New Committee Members

In his opening remarks, WCIRB President and CEO Bill Mudge described the efforts underway to modernize the WCIRB's operations and prepare the organization for its 100 year anniversary. “This company will soon reach a significant milestone. We are about to reach the 100th anniversary of our founding and my entire team is committed to modernizing our operations through the use of new technologies, increasing transparency in our operations by making more information available to a wider audience, and to fostering teamwork with our primary stakeholders to ensure we are providing the products and services they need.”

At the conclusion of Mr. Mudge's remarks, voting began to replace vacancies on two WCIRB committees. ACE Property and Casualty Insurance Company was re-elected, and National Union Fire Insurance Company of Pittsburgh, PA and Zenith Insurance Company were newly elected to serve on the Governing Committee. SeaBright Insurance Company was newly elected to the Classification and Rating Committee and Travelers Indemnity Company was re-elected. Terms for both committees are three years.

On behalf of the membership, Bill Mudge offered his thanks to outgoing Governing Committee members Employers Compensation Insurance Company and Travelers Indemnity Company and to outgoing Classification and Rating Committee member CompWest Insurance Company. “Our success as an organization depends on the support and commitment of the WCIRB membership and I am grateful for all of the hard work and the expertise of those whose terms are expiring and those who continue to serve.”
