Electronic filing is the fastest way to get documents into EAMS, DWC's electronic case management system for the workers' compensation courts. There are two ways to file electronically: e-forms and JET File. JET File is faster and best suited to filers of the six most used court forms, while e-forms are available for all forms. (Filers may use e-forms or JET File interchangeably.) The April 5 expo will provide information about both filing methods.
Filers looking for faster, easier and more cost-effective alternatives to paper forms are encouraged to attend this electronic filing expo:
Thursday, April 5
10 a.m.-noon (morning session)
1-3 p.m. (afternoon session)
Staybridge Suites
140 Promenade Circle
Sacramento, CA 95834
Please note that this expo is not at the DWC district office itself. However, it is conveniently located within walking distance in the same business complex.
No registration is necessary. Filers can drop in any time between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. The program will repeat through the day. There will be an hour lunch break from noon until 1 p.m.
This is the sixth e-filing expo hosted by DWC, following events in San Bernardino, Santa Ana, Los Angeles, Van Nuys and Oakland.
“Paper filers wondering whether to take the plunge into electronic filing will find the expo is a great way to learn about their options,” said Mark Fudem, associate chief judge. “All the vendors and experts will be in one place to answer questions. And filers can sign up to e-file on the spot.”
The expo will include:
- A walkthrough of each electronic filing method and its benefits for filers
- Access to tech and business experts, who will be available for consultation and questions about each filing method
- Approved software and third-party filing service providers, who can demonstrate and answer questions about products that help filers take advantage of the speed and efficiency of electronic filing
- Ability to sign up for electronic filing immediately
- Refreshments
