Norcross, GA (WorkersCompensation.com) - The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has cited Garden Films Productions LLC – based in Culver City, California – for failing to protect employees from hazards while filming a movie. Proposed penalties total $9,472.
One employee suffered injuries that required hospitalization and another suffered minor injuries during filming of a simulated motorcycle explosion. OSHA inspected the Norcross, Georgia, location and cited the Garden Films Productions for failing to require that employees use proper personal protective equipment.
“People on this worksite suffered injuries because the employer failed to implement proper safety practices,” said OSHA Atlanta-East Area Director William Fulcher.
The company has 15 business days from receipt of the citations and proposed penalties to comply, request an informal conference with OSHA’s area director, or contest the findings before the independent Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission.
