California DWC Posts Updated Fact Sheet Explaining The Use Of Qualified Medical Evaluators

Oakland, CA (WorkersCompensation.com) - In April 2012, the Division of Workers' Compensation (DWC) posted an updated fact sheet for injured workers which provides answers to questions about qualified medical evaluators (QME) and agreed medical evaluators (AME). The division is providing a grace period until July 15, 2012 to use the revised fact sheet as required for issuance of benefit notices. Only the text is required for compliance.
Specific changes to the fact sheet:
- Information for the need to fill out and file the claim form was revised
- The explanation for treatment within a medical provider network (MPN) was reformatted to clarify questions for potential use of a QME/AME
