Los Angeles, CA (WorkersCompensation.com) - A Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputy was charged today with workers’ compensation fraud, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.
Kevin Adams (dob 08/11/73) of Covina faces one count of workers’ compensation insurance fraud in case BA489895.
Arraignment is scheduled for January 11, 2021 at the Foltz Criminal Justice Center, Dept. 30.
Adams was assigned to the Twin Towers Correctional Facility, Custody Services Division. He is accused of filing a false workplace injury claim for which he was receiving disability benefits. The alleged fraud began in 2015.
The defendant faces a possible maximum sentence of five years in county jail if convicted as charged.
The case remains under investigation by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Internal Criminal Investigations Bureau.
