CA DWC Issues 15-Day Notice Of Revisions To E-Med Treatment Billing Regs

                               Oakland, CA (CompNewsNetwork) - The Division of Workers' Compensation (DWC) has further modified its proposed regulations to adopt standardized paper medical treatment billing forms and electronic medical billing standards. The second 15-day notice of modification has been posted on the DWC Web site. Medical e-billing regulations will encourage electronic billing and faster payments to physicians and are part of the division's 12-point plan to help control medical costs in California's workers' compensation system.

Members of the public may comment on the revisions until 5 p.m. on Feb. 16, 2011.

The proposed revisions include correction of technical errors, clarification of language, and changes to improve the functioning of paper and electronic billing and remittance.
