CA Division of Workers’ Compensation participates in free seminar on electronic medical billing

Sacramento, CA (WorkersCompensation.com) - The Division of Workers' Compensation (DWC) will participate in the “California eBill Webinar Educational Series” organized by the California Medical Association, the California Orthopedic Association, the American Medical Association and hosted by Jopari Solutions. This four-part educational program will be held Aug. 16, 23, 30 and Sept. 6. Anyone wishing to view the free webinar must register for the program on the California Medical Association website.

Electronic medical billing regulations for workers' compensation will become effective on Oct. 18. Claims administrators must be ready to participate in electronic billing; electronic billing is optional for medical providers.

“E-billing will create efficiencies for providers and payers, improve communication and bring workers' compensation medical billing into the electronic age,” said DWC Administrative Director Rosa Moran.

In order to facilitate implementation of electronic medical billing, DWC has posted a list of electronic medical billing/payment providers on the web. Interested vendors of electronic medical billing/payment services or software are invited to submit contact information to DIRe-billing@dir.ca.gov for posting. Please provide company name, contact name, address/phone/fax/email/Web address. DWC will not be “approving” or “endorsing” any of the service providers, but will post the information for the convenience of the public.
