AIA Comments On Veto Of Costly CA WC Measure

                               Sacramento, CA (CompNewsNetwork) - Steve Suchil, Western Region assistant vice president for the American Insurance Association (AIA), issued the following statement on Governor Schwarzenegger's September 24 veto of a costly and unneeded workers' compensation measure.  AB 933 would have mandated California licensure for workers' compensation medical review physicians.

Mr. Suchil's statement follows:

"We applaud the governor for vetoing a bill that would have added costs and delays to the treatment of injured workers.  It would have done nothing to improve the actual treatment of workers.  Medical guidelines are generally consistent across all 50 states."
