New York DOH Announces Removal Of Doctors’ Names From The List Of Physicians Authorized To Treat Workers’ Compensation Claimants

                               

Albany, NY (CompNewsNetwork) - The New York Workers Compensation Board has announced the removal of the following physicians authorization to treat workers' compensation patients or Conduct Independent Medical Examinations.

DOUGLAS W. WOLFF, D.O. (Authorization No. 176406-7W)
Please be advised that, by Determination and Order (BPMC No. 07-280) of a Hearing Committee of the New York State Department of Health, State Board for Professional Medical Conduct, effective December 21, 2007, Dr. Douglas Wolff's license to practice medicine in the State of New York, or in any other jurisdiction where that practice is predicated on a valid New York State license to practice medicine, was revoked.

Pursuant to Workers' Compensation Law Section 13-d(5), the Chair of the New York State Workers' Compensation Board has exercised his authority to remove Dr. Wolff from the list of authorized physicians, effective January 7, 2008. Dr. Wolff's current address is 316 West 93rd Street, Apt. 5G, New York, New York 10025.

Dr. Wolff is prohibited from rendering medical or other treatment and care to individuals who have suffered work-related injuries or illnesses. Medical reports submitted by Dr. Wolff for treatment or examinations rendered prior to December 21, 2007, are valid, but are invalid for any treatment or examinations rendered on or after that date. Requests to cross-examine Dr. Wolff regarding treatment or examinations he rendered prior to December 21, 2007, should not be denied due to the revocation of his license or his removal from the list of authorized physicians.

ANTHONY DRAKATOS, M.D. (Authorization No. 139913-8W)
Please be advised that, by Modification Order (BPMC No. 03-320) of the New York State Department of Health, State Board for Professional Medical Conduct, effective December 28, 2007, Dr. Anthony Drakatos agreed to never activate his registration or seek to reapply for a license to practice medicine in the State of New York. He was removed from the State Education Department's list of licensed physicians, effective July 5, 2007, on which date he was deemed to be no longer registered to practice medicine in New York State.

Pursuant to Workers' Compensation Law Section 13-d(5), the Chair of the New York State Workers' Compensation Board has exercised his authority to remove Dr. Drakatos from the list of authorized physicians, effective January 8, 2008. Dr. Drakatos's current address is 123 Penny Creek Drive, Bluffton, South Carolina 29909.

Dr. Drakatos is prohibited from rendering medical or other treatment and care to individuals who have suffered work-related injuries or illnesses. Medical reports submitted by Dr. Drakatos for treatment or examinations rendered prior to July 5, 2007, are valid, but are invalid for any treatment or examinations rendered on or after that date. Requests to cross-examine Dr. Drakatos regarding treatment or examinations he rendered prior to July 5, 2007, should not be denied due to the non-registration status of his medical license or his removal from the list of authorized physicians.
