Milford, Connecticut Man Charged With Forgery

                               

Hartford, CT (CompNewsNetwork) - The Workers' Compensation Fraud Control Bureau announces the arrest of a Milford man on charges of forgery.

Michael Robichaud, age 42,  Milford, was arrested on July 17, 2008, and charged with one count of Forgery in the Second Degree, a felony punishable by up to five years imprisonment.

According to the arrest warrant affidavit, a complaint was made to the Workers' Compensation Fraud Control Bureau in the Division of Criminal Justice that Mr. Robichaud (doing business as MJR Contracting, LLC) submitted a forged Certificate of Liability Insurance as part of a construction bidding process.

The warrant alleges that the certificate of insurance was altered and the signature forged.

The yearly insurance policy premium, if authorized, would be valued at $10,000, according to the warrant.

Mr. Robichaud was released on a written promise to appear and will be arraigned in Superior Court at G.A. No. 7, Meriden, on August 8, 2008.

The charge against Mr. Robichaud is merely an accusation, and he is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

The case will be prosecuted by the Workers' Compensation Fraud Control Bureau of the Chief State's Attorney's Office in Rocky Hill.
